When I was a kid...

When I was a kid my grandparents always brought me and my sisters these crazy hats from New Years Eve Parties. A few years ago my grandparents brought my kids some of these funny hats after New Years Eve. This past New Years my kids said to me, " Mommy are we going to get those funny hats again from Grandma and Grandpa?" I love that the tradition has been passed down to my kids. They look just like I did.

Oh the silly things we put our kids through just because we've forgotten how dorky and awkward we felt when grammy first plunked that bonnet on our brain. I suppose it's harmless good fun. After all, the kid's won't start feeling self conscious for at least another five or six years. But about the time puberty hits they'll think twice of this minor mayhem and then really have something to tell their therapists. So few growing up today are well rounded enough to simply shrug off their goofy past and recall that it was foisted upon them, rather than simply applied with any serious thought attached.
